Women in Print breakfast dates announced

Women in Print has announced its annual Breakfast Series will expand in Hobart this year: the industry body named Sam Dobie, former Dieman Awards Chair, as the inaugural Tasmanian Patron. Dobie is the Creative Director of Inclusive Creatives and has been formally endorsed by the Women in Print Board.

“Women across our industry are growing in numbers which allows a wonderful opportunity to offer the Breakfast Series to each and every State. I could not be happier to be part of this announcement and look forward to sharing the Women in Print program with our industry in Hobart,” commented Kellie Northwood, CEO, Print & Visual Communication Association and Women in Print, Honorary Secretary.

The 2023 keynote speaker has also been announced, Danielle Dobson, who will headline the Series exploring her book ‘Breaking the Gender Code’. Danielle is a Speaker, Author, Facilitator and Mother. As a CPA with extensive corporate experience, Danielle wanted to make a difference and commenced a two-year research piece on male and female leaders coping with professional work-life balance. Her findings formed a book, Breaking the Gender Code, which will be the topic for discussion.

Dobson will focus on how the Gender Code can hold back women in their professional and personal lives, as well as unpacking why women feel the constant pressure to keep going without seeking support or assistance.

“Often, women feel they are failing if they reach out for support and approach their professional lives with an invincible attitude. Breaking the Gender Code is about assessing that and looking at how we can equip ourselves with skills to feel empowered, recognise our contributions and feel valued in what we do. I think it is very topical and one our Women in Print community will be able to walk away from the events with skills they can start using immediately,” commented Susan Heaney, Chair, Women in Print.

Sydney 16th May, Melbourne 17th May, Brisbane 18th May, Adelaide 23rd May, Perth 24th May, and Hobart 30th May.
